Uniworld Adds New Land an Train Options to 2021. This has unveiled two new itineraries that combine one of the company’s river cruises with a journey by land and rail. The company has partnered with Golden Eagle Luxury Trains to create journeys that will travel through Italy, Switzerland, Austria and Slovenia.
The first of two new itineraries is the 14-day Cruise and Rail: Milan, Venice and the Swiss Alps, which takes passengers on a roundtrip cruise from Venice onboard newly refitted S.S. La Venezia (the former River Countess) and ends with a journey by rail to Zurich.
The second itinerary is a 12-day Cruise and Rail .Venice and the Swiss Alps trip. This begins with a train trip from Zurich to Venice and concludes on Italy’s Po River.
Highlights on both itineraries include traveling by rail along Lake Zurich; “de-training” for a visit to Gutenberg Castle in Balzers, Lichtenstein; and partaking in a private evening concert nestled within the caves of Postojna.
‘At Uniworld, we are constantly looking for ways to elevate the intimate destination experience our guests appreciate and, quite frankly, expect,” Ellen Betteridge, president and CEO of Uniworld, said in a statement. “Like river cruising, luxury train travel is an opportunity to bring our guests to the heart of Europe.
