Known for its scenic coastline, Mallorca is a beautiful island and an ideal destination for relaxing on holidays. During your stopovers, discover old fishing villages that have managed to preserve all their charm and authenticity. The diversity of landscape is most the surprising aspect, to the west the island is more mountainous and wilder whereas the east coast is more touristic.

Balearic Islands

DAY 1 : Palma de Mallorca - Port of Andratx
Boarding is scheduled at 5pm from the Palma marina. You'll meet your hostess and skipper who will show you to your cabin and take you on a tour of the boat. After a briefing on you itinerary and safety demonstrations, the captain will begin the journey to Port Adratx. Located southwest of the Serra Tramuntana (mountain range), this former fishing village has retained all its charm and elegance. Stroll along the harbour in search of a restaurant for dinner. Overnight on board.

DAY 2 : Port of Andratx - Port Sóller
Take time and enjoy your breakfast in the comfort of the cockpit. You set sail in the morning to reach Port Sóller. Located in a small horseshoe-shaped bay, this charming coastal town is dominated by the highest peak on the island, the Puig Mayor (1,445m). To get to the city you can take the old tramway, the Orange Express. In the central square, you will find its Baroque style church, San Barolomé. The streets surrounding the square are full of traditional houses and shops. Dine in the city or return to the port and watch the sunset. Overnight on board.

Day 3: Port Sóller - Port Pollença
Leave the port as sails are hoisted in the direction of Port Pollença. This seaside resort welcomed the famous novelist Agatha Christie in 1932. Her stay inspired her to write the story “Problem at Pollensa Bay”, which lead to an explosive interest in this destination. Protected from winds by the Formentor peninsula and the Alcúdia peninsula, Pollença Bay is an ideal spot for swimming and snorkeling. At the end of the day, you can stroll along the pedestrian crossing "Anglada Camarasa" (north of the marina). Overnight on board.

DAY 4: Port Pollensa - Cala Rajada
The skipper casts off to the village of Cala Rajada. In the 17th century, the fishermen of this village specialised in catching rays and lobsters, hence its name. Its port is also one of the closest to Menorca. You'll enjoy the white sandy beaches and the quality of the turquoise water (awarded the "blue flag" of the European Foundation for Environmental Education). If you wish to walk around the city, we advise you to go to the Capdepera lighthouse. Overnight on board.

DAY 5: Cala Rajada - Cala d'Or
After a few hours of sailing, you arrive at Cala d'Or. For many, this cove has one of the best climates on the island. Depending on your desires, you can relax on the beach, cool off in dazzling blue water or stroll to around the city. Its architecture and buildings, whose facades were whitewashed, give it an Ibizan style. In the city center, you will find many restaurants where you can try the local cuisine. The bravest can explore the backcountry. As you return to the boat, you will pass by many restaurants ("Port Petit" offers you a refined cuisine). Overnight on board.

DAY 6: Cala d'Or - Cabrera Island
Imagine waking up early to watch the sunrise, while the boat sails south towards the island of Cabrera, this is your reality on day 6. This island is a protected land and sea park since 1991. Its bay is home to a particularly rich fauna and flora. You may have the chance to see turtles, dolphins, octopuses, many species of fish and birds. You will have the opportunity to do several hikes that will take you to the castle, the lighthouse or the Cova Blanca cave*. Overnight on board.
*To get to the castle, you will need to ask the park office (located next to the cafeteria on the platform) for permission.

DAY 7: Cabrera Island - Palma
After having weighed anchor and hoisted the sails, the captain sets sail for Palma de Mallorca. Enjoy your last hours on the boat to relax on the trampolines and admire the landscape of the south coast of Mallorca. Upon arrival in Palma, you will have free time to explore the capital of the Balearic Islands and discover its impressive cathedral (the Catedral-Basilica de Santa Maria), Bellver Castle but also its many patios located in the city centre (over 40). For your dinner, we recommend the restaurants: Bar Espana local cuisine), Millo Cocina Mestiza (Latin and international cuisine)... Overnight on board.

DAY 8: Palma de Mallorca
You are scheduled to disembark after breakfast at around 9am. Depending on your flight schedule, you can continue your visit to Palma.

    Relaxing trip around Mallorca

Overall a very relaxing cruise with great weather and warm seas. Compared to Greece, Mallorca has less history but still has its own charm and the water is probably an even more intense blue. Our crew members Chris and Elena were wonderful company and were always eager to help. They looked after us with a smile and customized the trip to our needs. Areas for improvement include information on arrival at the Marina to find the boat (the charter company provided no specific info about which catamaran to find at all). Also we missed being able to dock in Puerto Cristo so had a second day of 6 hours of sailing in quite heavy seas which was too much. It is really important to get a berth to break that journey overnight.
